Dear God….. Thank you!

Compassion Blog Month

Dear God,

You tell us to bring our prayers and thanksgivings to you in prayer. I want to say thank you for all my blessings, my wonderful sons (Michael, Randall, Robert, Dyllan and William), my loving husband Randy, and our health.  I am also thankful for my special “children” that you have brought into my life through Compassion International.

You tell us in Proverbs 31:8, “Speak up for those who cannot speak up for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.”  Compassion has helped me speak up for these wonderful special children, that they may grow in their faith and help to break the cycle of poverty.  “And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little one because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward” (Matthew 10:42).  These children have given me back more than I will ever be able to give them, the love and care that they express is genuine, and so much better than anything I could buy.

Thank you for Maria, who is the one that you brought into my life almost four years ago, and started this passion.  Keep her and her family healthy, and I pray that they continue to learn and grow in their faith.

Thank you for Alisson, who is very sweet, and for her mother.  Please be with her that she may remain healthy, and that her asthma may not cause her harm, so she can play like the other children her age.  Help her to continue to grow and learn in her faith, while sharing it with her family.

Thank you for Sharon, and keep her mother safe as she is expecting a baby very soon. Keep both mother and child healthy.  Please be with Sharon and her grandmother that they may be helpful and loving to this new blessing in God’s kingdom, and help Sharon show your grace as her baby brother grows up.

Thank you for Elizabeth, my newest special “child”, help her to grow in her faith, and education. Keep her family well, and help her share what she learns about you with her mother, father and brother.

I want to thank you for the opportunity that I had with Michell, even though she has graduated from the program this past July, she is still in my prayers as she starts this new part of her life as a young adult. Help her to remember what she has learned, and to pass it on to her two brothers.

Please be with  Compassion this month as they try to find over 3100 sponsors for children in need.  Please be with those who see our blogs and show them what you have planned for them, as “whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me” (Mark 9:37).

Compassion has given me the responsibility to be with five special children this month to help them find sponsors, please be with, “Robinson” from Guatemala, who has been waiting over 7 months for a sponsor. With “Kener” from “Honduras” who also has been waiting for over 7 months for a sponsor.  Also be with “Beans” from Haiti, “Osiris” from El Salvador, and “Luis” from Dominican Republic, that I may find sponsors for all five of these precious children.  I know there is someone out there for each of them, and help me to come in contact with them, so they may experience the great joy that I find sponsoring children.   “He who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses” (Proverbs 28:27).

Thank you for allowing me to be a Child Advocate for  Compassion, by helping to spread the news of such a great organization.  Please be with all who work with Compassion to continue to spread great news.  Be with the teachers and pastors of the centers around the world where they are affecting the lives of over 1,000,000 children.

I ask nothing for myself, but am thankful for all you have given me, all I ask if for your assistance to help fight the cycle of poverty, and to help bring more people to know that you are a loving and kind God, who never says ‘no’.

Your loving servant in Christ Jesus name,
Amen.

Psalms 41:1, “Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the Lord delivers him in times of trouble”
