From a Sponsored Child’s Point of View

From the Sponsored Child’s Point of View

September 29, 2012

Dear Esteemed Sponsor,

Thank you for the nice letters and pictures. I was so happy to show my family and friends how pretty you are. I continue to pray for you and your family.  My mom and I are so thank for that you have been my sponsor for the past five years. Since you have been my sponsor I have been able to go to school and learn about Jesus at the Compassion center. I have friends that do not have a sponsor and they have not been able to attend school.

Can you please pray for my friend that she will be able to go back to school. Can you please pray for my mom that she will be able to find a job.

I look forward to your next letter,  Love your friend,

……

Our blog assignment this week is to write a letter from our sponsored child’s point of view.  While I cannot really understand what they go through, I do love the letters that they send to me. In each letter they are always telling me how much they appreciate my sponsorship, and the letters that I send them.  They are always asking for prayers for their family and friends.   They are not asking for anything for themselves, but usually for their families.

I have really enjoyed all the blog assignments this month, and it has taken some time to think outside the box, and I hope that you have enjoyed these assignments as well.  Please take a moment to stop by Compassion and sponsor a child living in poverty, they will change your live forever.

This week I received two new sponsor children from India.  For whatever reason, their financial sponsors do not want to write to them, so I am their new Correspondence Sponsor.  They are 17 and 18 years old.  When comparing what my 18 and 20 year old sons like to do, I am sure that these children from India do not get the same chance to play with cell phones, computers or on the internet all time.  Their families only bring around $20-30 a month to take care of their families.  I am waiting patiently to find out more information about them, and to see what they like to do. Again, take a moment and think about sponsoring a child living in poverty!
