2022 Suggestions….

It is amazing haw fast 2021 has gone by, and so many things have happened around the world in our “new normal”.  Quilting is one of those things that really hasn’t changed, other than not being able to gather together to quilt.  This year has been touch for some people, and a lot of commented that they have lost their “mojo” for quilting.  Not that they don’t want to quilt, but that they have just lost the motivation to quilt.  I understand that feeling, as there are times I sit here just looking at all the beautiful quilts everyone is making, and want to make, however, just can’t get into my sewing room.

Over the past couple months, I have had trouble figuring out what we will do for 2022.  I want to find things to get others (as well as myself) “mojo” back.  So I posted some polls in the Quilting BOM Facebook group to get your input into what you want to do.   Belinda has added different questions to get everyone in the group engaged again.

I added the Facebook Mentorship program to the group, as so many have made friends are so willing to take the time to say encouraging things, and to help when others need help.    Join if you are needing help, wanting to help, or just create new Quilting friends.  Maybe this will help get our ‘mojo’ back for 2022. Once you sign up, it does give prompts to help the conversation going. You can join or quit at any time.

If you have a quilting tool that you have seen, but are not sure if it will work, drop me a message, and maybe I have it and can share my experience, or maybe an excuse to buy one.  Ok, don’t need an excuse, but I always looking for new gadgets.  There are a couple I am interested in trying and will share with you my thoughts.  If you have one you, love, would love to have guest writers share their experiences as well.

Our most recent poll was to help figure out what everyone would like to do for 2022, and here are some suggestions

  • Large center block with smaller ones around it
  • Making smaller blocks for more of a challenge
  • Make different size star blocks from small to large
  • Row-by-Row quilts
  • Make more quilt tops during the year, using 2-4 blocks repeating to create top
  • Make more up-to-date blocks
  • And of course continue with making 1-2 blocks a month to complete a 20 sample quilt top.

So now, is the time to get to work and try to figure out what we will do for 2022.
