I continue to work on getting all those UFOs finished and quilted.
When I first started to quilt, I found out that I love to piece a quilt, but I hated to quilt it, it is a lot of work, and your arms get tired. I am so happy that I was able to save up to purchase a longarm, as this is a game changer.
A couple weeks, I was looking thru tubs to find quilt tops that I had finished but had not quilted. I found one that I believe I made around 5-6 years ago. I got it loaded onto my longarm, and my husband, Randall came in and asked when I made “that quilt”. I laughed a long time ago. I thought I had purchased the fabric from Missouri Star Quilt Company, however, when I went back thru my orders, I didn’t see it. So I am not sure where I got the fabric from.

I got the quilt top loaded on my longarm and was ready to start quilting in February, unfortunately, I got sick, and was just not up to standing, so it had to sit for a week.
As I was quilting it, the more I looked at it, the more I realized as you learn to quilt and continue to make quilts, your quilting improves. I was amazed at how many errors I found in the quilt, and how wonky it was. I was able to quilt it, but there are a few tucks where the fabric wasn’t quite flat. However, when the quilt was finished and bound with a white binding, you don’t see all those errors, or how wonky it is, you just see a beautiful quilt.
So, remember, no matter what stage of quilting you are at, all of your quilts are beautiful, and to enjoy the process and the quilts, nothing is perfect, so don’t worry about it.
I enjoy being able to see where I started and where I am come to. I do now that I do not like precut fabric that have pinked edges. The quilts that I made with those, are just not quite right and the seams come apart easier. This quilt was made with, I think, a jelly roll. But I could not be completely sure. I know I purchased the fabric from Missouri Star Quilt Co, but not sure if they have history that long to go back.
I love how the quilt turned out. I purchased a new pantograph from Quilting Pantographs, called “Falling Stars”. I loved how it turned out.

I quilted using White Aurifil thread on the front, and the back is a light blue blended fabric, and I used the Aurifil 2600 Gray thread on the back. When there is a basically sold back, and a neat design has been stitched on the quilt, I like to see it, it just gives the quilt more character. The light outside didn’t show how pretty it looks.
Here is the finished quilt.

I hope you have enjoyed another one of my UFO’s being completed for 2023!
