This month, I had the opportunity to work with Island Batik Flower Pot fabric line. It is a Signature collection by Kathy Engle for Jennifer Fulton of Inquiring Quilter.
Jennifer asked if anyone would like to make a quilt and join in her Blog Tour. The Blog Tour is to help launch her new collection. I love the fabric, so I said I would be happy to do another quilt from the fabric line.

Inquiring Quilter sent me 1/4 yard of the 20 fabrics in the line. I also received 2 yards of Fondant and Aruba, coordinating fabric, from Island Batik. The fabric was given to me for free for this Blog Hop.
I wanted to do something different than the other quilt. I tried to still highlight the flowers of the fabric. I decided on a pieced flower block. I used Electric Quilt 8 to create the quilt to see how the fabric would look. There are 20 blocks, one for each fabric.

The fabric reminds me of summer and all the pretty flowers. It is hot in Texas at this time of year. It was nice to have a pretty quilt to work on.
The centers of the Flowers are all the same. They are made with Flying Geese made from the Aruba fabric, and the center is made from the Fondant fabric.

Each block is 12 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ unfinished. I added a sashing between the blocks with little 1″ squares in the middle.
Each block was pressed using my Oliso iron. I received this iron from Oliso as a 2024 Island Batik Ambassador. I love using this iron, it makes pressing all the seams so easy, and at the correct temperature.

I finished the quilt using Hobbs Batting and Aurifil Thread to quilt. The Hobbs batting is so easy to use. It comes out of the packages very nicely. I used the Tuscany Collection, twin size. This batting quilts beautifully with my long-arm sewing machine. It is a little thicker than some of the other Hobbs batting but breathes Naturally.

The Aurifil Thread I used to piece the quilt is 2600 light gray. It is my favorite and blends with so many fabrics. The thread I used to quilt was from the Color Builder Set, Passionflower, number 3770. It is a variegated blue thread. It blended with the Aruba to the Fondant without distracting from the fabric.
The quilt was quilted on my Juki Longarm, with a design I got from Quilting Pantographs, called Daisy Bell. The flowers just blended so well with the fabric and quilt pattern. Quilting Pantographs has a great rewards program, and I got this design free.

My quilt finished at 63″ x 73″.

I am offering a downloadable PDF pattern of the Flower Quilt for $5.00 for a limited time. A link to the PDF will be emailed to you after payment is made. I would love to see your completed quilt!
