2025 Unboxing Video

I’m happy to say that for the fourth year, I am a 2025 Island Batik Ambassador.  For those unfamiliar with an Island Batik Ambassador, we are a talented group. We are creative individuals who love quilting and challenges. Each month during the year we are given a project to make and post. Some are our choice, others are to highlight a new fabric line, new thread, new cutting dies or patterns. My goal is to create projects that will inspire others to create something similar or to try new things.

Each January, we get boxes of goodies from Island Batik and their sponsors.  These items are provided to me for free by Island Batik and their industry partners. The partners include Aurifil Thread,  Hobbs Batting, Schmetz Needles, Oliso Irons and Funky Friends Factory. I received these items as part of my role as an Island Batik Ambassador.

Check out my Video of the items I received.

Here is a recap of what I received in my first Box of 2025!

Oliso – They sent us their “Project Iron”, a mini iron. I have one of these, and they are the best for ironing small projects. There is a cool light at the front of the iron, to help see where you are pressing.

Oliso – They also sent us this nice carrying bag to go with the iron.

Accuquilt Go! Irish Chain – This will be used during our May Blog Hop. I am happy that Accuquilt is a partner once again this year! I have collected so many dies, and can’t wait to get started on using this one.

Island Batik – This Surprise Package is the fabric for the May Blog Hop. The fabric is called “Jabberwocky” by Carol Moellers Designs. This will ship to the fabric stores in May.

Island Batik – 10″ Squares – Gradations – Tantalizing Teal. 20 fabrics, 40 pieces.

Island Batik – Gradations – Ravishing Red – 2 1/2″ strips. 20 fabrics, 40 pieces.

Island Batik – Petal Poetry – 10″ squares – 20 fabrics – 40 pieces. Plus two yards of coordinating fabrics – French Blue & Whip Cream.

Island Batik – 3 sets of Stash Builders – 5″ strips of fabric – 2.8 yards each package. This fabric is great to add a little color to your quilt, or for a scrappy quilt.

Island Batik – Foundations set – 12 fabrics each 1/2 yard each. From solids to Foundations to Gradations. Great to add to any quilt, including bindings.

Island Batik – Foundation – Baby Powder – 6 yards of Neutral.

Island Batik – Basic colors – Black, White & Gray – 4 yards of each.

Island Batik – “Just Dandy” – Fall 2024 collection by Kate Colleran Designs. This fabric ships to shops in February. I will be using this fabric in our February Blog Hop. There are 20 fabrics, each 1/2 yard.

Aurifil – My favorite thread. I received three spools of thread, Blue (2735), Red (2265), and Yellow (2140).

Schmetz Needles – we received three sets of needles, Vinyl, Piecing & Quilting, and Universal needles. A Schmetz luggage tag, and Schmetz ABC pocket guide, and a Schmetz notepad. These are the best needles for quilting.

I should have the second back this week, from Hobbs Batting and Deb Tuckers Studio 180 designs. I can’t wait to share those with you as well. Funky Factory Friends are providing a pattern for us to make a stuffed animal for one of our monthly projects.

To see what I make, follow my blog, as I create table runners, quilts, and stuffed animals with these fabrics. Stay tuned for more exciting projects throughout the rest of 2025!

What is your favorite from this years Box?  I love everything!
