Flat Quarter of each of the following
- Yellow
- Pink
- Green
- Purple
Cutting pieces
Here is the layout for each of the pieces.
Assembly
The first part you will be assembling is the flowers. (unfinished 6” x 6”)
You will need the following pieces
- A – 1 Green, 1 Pink, 1 Yellow
- B – 2 Yellow, 1 Pink, 1 Green
- D – 1 Yellow, 1 Purple, 1 Pink
- F – 1 Green
Sewing Blocks
HST – Half Square Triangle – Pieces B
Place 1 yellow with 1 pink, right sides together.
Draw a line down the middle of the squares, and sew ¼” on each side of the line.
Cut along the line to create two HST (Unfinished size 1 ⅞” x 1 ⅞”), press open and square-up if needed. Trim dog ears.
Repeat – using 1 yellow with one green
Layout the pieces to match the following layout (or the picture above)
Sew
1 to 2
4 to 5
7 to 8
6 to 10
3 to 11
Press then sew
4/5 to 7/8
4/5/7/8 to 9
Press then sew
1/2 to 4/5/7/8/9
1/2/4/5/7/8/9 to 6/10
Press then sew
1/2/4/5/6/7/8/9/10 to 3/11
You will make 4 of these.
Middle of block
Using Three of the flowers, sew piece 12 to 3/11, creating 3 of these blocks.
Sew Piece 13 (Yellow) to piece 14 (Green) together – press open
Sew piece 13/14 to one flower on the 6/10/11/12 side, press open. You will have one of these blocks.
Layout the four small blocks that you have put together in the following layout
Top row sew the two blocks together
Bottom row sew the two blocks together
Press seams open
Sew top row to bottom row, Press seams open.
