Additional Blocks 2020

Hello Everyone!

So glad that we were able to release the 20 blocks for 2020 faster, so everyone could keep busy.   I am working on a video for the Attic Window instructions, which is the way I assembled my quilt top.

So for July we are letting everyone catch up with these blocks and/or assemble their blocks into a quilt top.  If there were any blocks that you did not like or want to do of these original 20 blocks, we will be releasing more blocks from the 101 Patchwork Patterns book starting in August.

There will be a total of 9 more blocks, two each for August thru November, and then one in December.  This will give you a nice little lap quilt for a family member or friend.  Without sashing or borders it would be 36″ x 36″.  You can always use some of the previous blocks to make it bigger.  Or just add to the first blocks to make that quilt top larger.

The first block each month will be a Hard block, and the second block (released around middle of month) will be an easy block.  A couple have options to make Easy or Medium, depending on how you make it.

If you are using scraps or using the same color scheme for these, or on the number of different fabric colors, will depend on how much fabric you will need.  I am using 5 colors plus a main background color.  Of the 5 colors you will need around 1/2 yard each, some a little more, some a little less.  The main background color you will need around 3/4 yard.  Again, it all depends on the colors, and the number of fabrics you want to use.  This is to give you an idea of what you man need if you are going to continue with the same fabric choices from the first blocks.

Remember the book has 101 different quilt blocks, and we have done 20, so there are another 81 blocks to choose from.   I am working on ones that I am able to easily convert into a 12″ finished block, so they all stay consistent.  Some are harder to convert to that size, as the sizes that you would need to cut are strange sizes.   These we may do later at a larger block size.

One of these blocks does require printing templates, just to cut out the fabric, not for assembly.  Similar to Grandmother’s Cross or Crossed Canoes.    I am again offering to mail the templates to anyone that wants to send me a Self-addressed Stamped envelope to me.  Just send me a PM in Facebook, and I will get you my address.  This will be the first block that I release in August.

Well, I am back to working on creating these blocks that I have picked out, so my admin team can help me proof the instructions.  My plan is to release on Saturday, August 1st.

I have posted in the Facebook group, I am looking for volunteers that would like to help proof the instructions, and test out one block in advance of being released.  For more information on that, go to the Facebook group and check it out. (only offered to members of my Facebook group.)

I love seeing all the completed Quilt tops and look forward to seeing the additional new blocks as they are completed.
