Fall Flair Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Fall Flair Blog Hop

I enjoyed making my Bed Runner for the February Island Batik Runner Up! Blog Hop.  Jennifer Fulton asked me if I would like to participate in her Runner blog hop. It was for her new Signature line, Fall Flair. I was happy to participate.   Jennifer sent me several pieces of her fabric line free to use.

I decided to make a table runner, with her line, using the same blocks as my Bed Runner, just shorter.

Here are the fabrics from the Fall Flair Line that I used.

I had received the “Corner Beam” ruler from Studio 180 Designs. This was part of my role as a 2025 Island Batik Ambassador. I decided to create the same blocks using the Diamond Rects ruler that I had purchased.

Using these rulers makes creating these blocks so easy, and more precise.

The four corners of the block are made with the “Corner Beam” ruler.  The four middle sides are made with the Diamond Rects ruler.   With these rulers you can make your block different sizes, without much calculation for the fabric pieces.  Each of my blocks finished at 10″ x 10″.

At first planning, I was going to make the lighter background fabric with the lighter blue.  When I laid the fabrics out, they seemed to blend together to close.  So I used some Foundation Island Batik fabric instead.

I laid out the five blocks and decided what color layout looked best.  I will take a picture in gray’s to check if the colors are balanced. Then, I will move the blocks around to see what looks best. With these blocks, it was easy to separate the darker fabrics from the lighter.

After sewing the blocks together, I added a 1 1/2″ border around the blocks. I used a lighter fabric from the Fall Flair line.  Then added a 2 1/2″ border of the lighter blue fabric.

Table runners or bed runners are great projects to use up some left over Batting from other projects. I was able to use some Hobbs Batting pieces.  The batting was provided to me free from Hobbs Batting in my role as an Island Batik Ambassador.

I quilted the runner with Aurifil Thread. I used a design I had received from Quilting Pantographs on my Juki Longarm.

I used some of the outside border fabric to bind the Table Runner.

Here is my finished Table Runner on the break room table at work.

It also looked great hanging it on my office door.  I think this is where is is going to stay for the time now.

If you enjoyed my Table Runner, be sure to explore the other quilter’s runners. They feature the Fall Fair fabric line.  Jennifer @ Inquiring Quilting is so generously giving out some of this fabric line to a lucky winner.  Make sure to check out her blog for more information.
